hiking or what i find when i get lost

I like a good hike through a quiet woods. Quiet in the sense that I don't hear a phone ring, a car honk, a single discordant note not associated with birds, frogs, crickets, rustling leaves or rushing water. Quiet in the sense that the monologue in my head can go on without the need for me to keep up my end of the conversation. I get lost in it. When that happens, here's a sample of what I find:
